You can also rent a pedal boat and take part in a local watersports event.

Ancient Greek ruins in Bodrum

The ancient Greek ruins in Bodrum are located just south of the Mediterranean Sea. The town was once known as Halicarnassus, the largest city in the ancient world. The city’s Mausoleum of Mausolus was one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. Originally built in the 7th century BC, the Mausoleum was later reconstructed and was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Today, you can visit this UNESCO-protected site, where you will be able to see some of the ruins and experience their importance.

In the early Christian era, the city became an important bishopric, and the ruins of the Mausoleum were used by the Christian Knights of St. John to construct a castle in the town. These ruins are still visible in Bodrum today. In 1856-57 CE, excavations of the Mausollos ruins took place, and many remains are still visible. Visiting these ruins is a fascinating experience and worth your time.
